About Me

Remember that girl in grade school who had the pink folder, pink shoe laces, and maybe a unicorn pencil case?

I was that “pink girl,” and, despite having grown up into a young professional,  I still embace my favorite color as a way to express my personality.

Welcome to PR in Pink, a blog I started as a challenge to myself to stay up-to-date on PR, marketing, journalism, and social media trends.

My name is Krista, and I have a diverse background in various forms of communication, including print journalism, public relations, corporate communications, and marketing communications. I currently work in alumni relations and communications for a medical school in Philadelphia, so you’ll find that topics on higher education and institutional advancement are of interest to me.

This blog represents my observations, thoughts, and opinions about social media, PR, journalism, and communications in general, but I don’t claim to know all the answers.

As a perennial student, I’m constantly seeking information to continue learning and to keep up with this crazy train on the social media tracks.

But this blog is more than just what I think; it’s about what you think too. Feel free to comment, discuss, disagree, or tweet as you please. I’m looking forward to seeing where this conversation takes me, and I hope you’ll join me along the way.

An important disclaimer

The postings on this site represent my own opinions and do not represent my employer.

Oh, and pink is still my favorite color.
